.NET Developer (Entry Level)

Title: .NET Developer (Entry Level)

Reports to: Director of Software Development

Job Summary:

This position will report to the Director of Software Development and is responsible for the implementation and production support of the company’s custom software, primarily ReviewStat, an ASP.NET application. This internal position works closely with the development team regarding development activities for coding enhancements using the Agile/Scrum Development methodology and the Microsoft .NET 4.0 framework. This person will design and develop enhancements, participate in daily Scrum meetings, design sessions and code reviews to ensure that the UI, business, and data layers of the application are effective and efficient in their performance and consistent in design and use across the ReviewStat application. This person will perform primarily development and design tasks along with production support activities with a proficiency in working with ASP.NET applications using C#. Our development environment is Visual Studio 2010 with ReSharper 5.1, Infragistics .NET Advantage 2010, and Microsoft SQL Server 2005.

Role and Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform analysis of requirement and user stories, estimate stories and their level of effort, and research technical solutions
  • Design, develop and test application code to ensure it functions in accordance with scenarios and requirements documentation or business design sessions to ensure the expected behaviors of the system successfully complete the user story
  • Aggressively troubleshoot production support issues and resolve defects in developed code
  • Write, test and execute SQL scripts for reports, repairing data errors, file downloads and file uploads; may write automated test scripts to test code
  • Compiles code and performs builds at the end of each sprint with occasional production builds done intermittently to address production support issues
  • Creates technical documentation of software components
  • Report issues to the Software Development Manager for escalation
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of URAC Standards applicable to job responsibilities

Professional Competencies/Educational Requirements/Required Qualifications:

  • US Citizen or Green Card holder ·        
  • Current with the latest C#, ASP.NET, and general development methodologies 
  • Minimum one (2) years experience in C# ASP.NET development or equivalent coursework
  • Familiar with Microsoft SQL Server
  • Good understanding of JavaScript & HTML
  • Excellent analysis skills in working with business users to define and clarify requirements
  • Excellent Oral and Written communication skills
  • Understanding of OOA/OOD
